Iron clamp ball

This piece was part of a massive oak tree of 1.25m in diameter. Many years ago 7 iron clamps have been hammered into trunk and branches to climb it. The tree grew over them and enclosed them.
I left the piece of bark around the clamp to show that.
The pattern of holes is based on a carbon 60 molecule.
The blue-black staining comes from a chemical reaction of tannin in the wood and iron.
This piece comes with a brown base plate made of acacia.
